Now, the 17-year-old is signed to Universal Republic / Lava Records and has released his first original track, ‘Night & Day.’

The song presents a rhythmic pop vibe in the same vein as Justin Timberlake and Usher. Holland is clearly a fan of Michael Jackson, based on his vocals and the dance moves he shows off in the ‘Night & Day’ video teaser.

The danceable synth-pop song features the teen singing about a girl he has his eye on. He sings, “Hey, I don’t wanna rush love so let’s take time / You know that it’s ok if you’re a little bit nervous, so am I,” and promises, “I’m taking every step to make sure you’re satisfied.”

It’s obvious Holland has a ton of talent. ‘Night & Day’ feels fresh and Holland looks and sounds like a performer who is likely to make a lot of noise in the pop music world. The song is expected to appear on his debut album, which he has been recording with A-list producers Stargate, Claude Kelly, Rico Love and JR Rotem.

So, on an extremely hot summer night in a Downtown LA studio, we banged out this tiny little taste of what CJ can do. Other people are clearly bitten with the CJ bug too, as his single release, and the teaser video we worked on together, is getting awesome press all over the internet. With awe-inspiring dance moves, a resounding voice, and charming presence, teen musician CJ Holland adds another dimension to modern pop. In 2011, the Nashville singer became a viral phenomenon after uploading a video of his performance of Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson's classic, "The Girl is Mine" to YouTube.

After he posted the clip on Ellen DeGeneres' Facebook page, Ellen promptly booked CJ as a guest on her show. CJ played the cover, and immediately mesmerized America in the process. Lava Records signed the young talent, and he quickly hit the studio with powerhouse producers Claude Kelly [Katy Perry], Stargate [Ne-Yo, Beyonce], JR Rotem [Rihanna], and Rico Love [Beyonce] to work on what would become his major label debut. At the same time, his buzz caught A-listers like Britney Spears, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Chris Brown, and Quincy Jones.

CJ Holland, a 17-year-old pop singer from Tennessee, somehow enlists none other than Lady Gaga to co-pen and sing the chorus of his new single ‘Luv U Sum.’ Unsurprisingly, it’s headed straight up the pop charts.

Gaga kicks off the festivities, seemingly transmitting her vocals from a distant (but very British) part of the galaxy. Holland then takes over, confidently riding on top of the propulsive, keyboard-pop track with an uncanny Michael Jackson singing impression. Think we’re kidding? Lyrically it’s nothing too deep, nothing you can’t handle, more of a mental dessert: “Got your sugar right over here / Not saccharin or fake my dear / No-nonsense diet baby i’m your sugarcane on your mind / It’s nothing you can’t handle babe / Domino, not splenda made / So lick your lips and brace your tongue / Get over here, you love me some.” (Told ya!)

According to his Facebook page, CJ Holland just signed his first record deal, although he’s mum on the label, it’s also clear from his posts that he’s working on more music. Meanwhile, Gaga is installing egg-pods for sleeping comfort in her bedroom.
